I've decided to make different kinds of bread. Here is my Irish Brown Soda Bread that I made this morning. She turned out beautiful and it is so easy. In Ireland this bread is was served to us every morning with our breakfast. It is made with whole wheat flour, white flour, baking soda, salt, and buttermilk. You mix it, pat it, shape into a 2" circle, and then you cut a cross in the top of it to let the faries out. You certainly don't want to cook faries in your bread. It is a very basic, life sustaining bread but you put some jam on it and yum, yum!! I've found a recipe to make my own "buttermilk plant" so that I will always have my own buttermilk. I'm going to give it a try and see what happens.
