My first try at cooking with a solar oven.......not too bad. Potatoes could of been cooked a little more. It would of worked better if I hadn't tilted the oven. Keeping the oven flat in the summer is the key. When I did that she started heating right up, but alas, it was almost time to eat. Tomorrow is another day and I have dinner in the pot ready to put in the solar oven. Dinner was awesome though. We ate from our garden and it was indeed yummy!!!!
Here we are firing up the solar oven!! I took potatoes, butter, onions, salt and pepper, and some
beef broth, mixed them up and the sun's doing the rest. I can't wait to taste them. They looked really
good in the pot before being cooked. I also cut up some, fresh from the garden, yellow squash and
zuccini. I put them next to the pot of potatoes. Roast beef is in the crock pot, homemade whole wheat
bread and jam. I can't wait for dinner!! Hummmm, what to cook for tomorrow?????

Ok, I think I'm caught up with my blog. Here is some of the fruit of my labor. Yellow Squash, cucumber, (above the zuccini) zuccini, lettece, cherry tomatoes, snap peas, and green beans. My hopi squash plants are doing great and I'm just waiting for that tomatoe to ripen. Finally my baby butternut squash. I can't wait to eat it!!
